That is so true that exercise gives you energy and makes you feel better. No matter how I feel before exercising, I always feel so much better after. Endorphins relax the body and I find that exercise helps me to have less back pain. Thanks for a great article!
The weather is cold here in Michigan, snowy and about 18 Degrees. I didn’t want to go on a walk. Not on New Years Day. But the more I thought of it and the more I thought about how great I would end up feeling, the easier it became to put on a sweatshirt, coat, hat and gloves.
The first 5 minutes of my walk, I felt cold. The wind was blowing – not too hard – but hard enough to make my legs cold. As I kept going, it was so neat, because I quit feeling cold. It was because I got into my walk and concentrated on my breathing, and the snow crunching under-foot.
As I walked, there were so many things that I became thankful for. My health, my wife, my kids, my dogs, my friends.
Isn’t it wonderful how “rewards” and a vision of a brighter future are such great
motivators?
All I can do is take one day at a time. Tomorrow will be a new challenge and a new chance to feel like a winner again.
