Improve Your Brain By Healing Your Gut

Who would have thought that the quality of the bacteria in your gut would have enormous influence on your brain?

Our current medical system treats every part of our body as totally separate entities. For example, our stomach is in Arizona, our liver is in Montana, our brain is in Kansas – well, at least you get the point! So how could it be possible that the microbiome  in our gut (the millions of bacteria – good and bad) have a direct impact on our brain?

This is a health-changing and interesting video by Dr. Perlmutter and Dr. Mercola. You will learn how many other problems people have to day can be simply improved by changing their gut health.

Learn how making your own fermented foods, like kefir, sauerkraut and kombucha can have a huge positive impact on your gut — and your brain.

Feeding your Good Bacteria with Prebiotics

We’ve talked much about the power and importance of probiotics both here on my blog and in my upcoming book, Brain Maker. The good bacteria that make up your microbiome play a vital role in not just your digestive health but your overall well-being.

But how do we best set up these friendly “good bacteria” for success? By eating a diet that includes sufficient amounts of “prebiotics,” the fuel that feeds your success. Popular prebiotics include garlic, onion, Jerusalem artichoke, dandelion greens and more.

Watch above as I discuss the power of prebiotics, and learn more about your microbiome in Brain Maker – available April 28.

Discover How to Make Your Brain ALIVE & WELL

Dr. David Perlmutter is an expert in brain and memory health. His discoveries and teachings fly right in the face of the established food dictocrats and health “experts.” Also, who else is saying “eat fat if you really want to lose weight?”

This video is a wake-up call to millions of seniors and those who are younger who want to stop the brain degeneration that is going on. Dementia and alzheimers is on the rise. So is obesity and Type 2 Diabetes. Do you find it interesting that Dr. Perlmutter says all these conditions are  playing a part in the increase in memory loss?

Here is another view of Dr. Perlmutter’s book, Grain Brain.

Recently, I’ve been hearing from many patients who have read Dr. Perlmutter’s new book, Grain Brain, and are now concerned about their carb intake. In his book, Dr. Perlmutter suggests that dietary carbohydrates cause high blood sugar, inflammation, and other effects that lead to a “toxic brain,” which can then develop into neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, depression, and others. Based on this line of causality, he recommends that everyone consume a very low carb diet (<60g per day) in order to prevent neurological disease. Read more…..
